Scented Beeswax Candle
Gwaredd Greatorex Beeswax Candles are renewable, non-toxic and hypoallergenic. They release negative ions that cleanse the air of toxins such as pollen, dust and odours. Their scent is created from 100% essential oils that have not been tested on animals. Their wicks are made from natural oak that burns with a gentle, relaxing crackle. They are indispensable to a tranquil, wholesome, ethical home.
What’s wrong with regular candles?
The majority of candles bought on the high street, even at the higher end of the market, use Paraffin wax, a wax that when burned creates highly toxic carcinogens (benzene and toluene). In fact, the toxins released from paraffin candles are the same as those found in diesel fumes. A popular alternative is Soy Wax, often referred to as a natural or vegetable wax, but Soy plantations demand the destruction of large areas of rain forest and have a huge impact on global warming.
Most scented-candle makers use synthetic fragrance oils derived from petroleum that can create allergic reactions, central nervous system disorders and, in rare cases, birth defects. They’re cheap, toxic and their aroma carries the odour of chemicals. Similarly, most common candle wicks contain lead, or are dipped in plastic that contains carcinogens such as phenol, methyl isobutyl ketone, xylene, acetophenone. It’s like burning a shower curtain.
What’s different about Gwaredd Greatorex Scented Beeswax Candles?
Beeswax
Beeswax is a natural wax created by worker bees to secure their honeycombs and protect their young. Once it has served this purpose, it is removed from the hive along with the honey. Gwaredd Greatorex uses Beeswax from a reserve in Norfolk where the bees are fed on Gorse and Wild flowers, which gives the wax a floral, earthy and entirely natural scent.
Handmade
The Beeswax is filtered several times to extract any debris such as pollen, honey or parts of the hive. Essential oils are added and it is completed with a single hand pour. It then rests for forty-eight hours until the wax is solid. All elements of each individually made Candle are meticulously controlled to ensure even scent distribution and scent throw. Due to the uniqueness of the making process you may find it appropriate to burn the candle for as little as one hour, the Cleansing properties of the beeswax mixed with the essential oils will hold a scent for a longer period of time.
Natural Scent
Gwarred Greatorex Scented Beeswax Candles blend 100% natural essential oils to deliver unique aromas that provide the benefits of aromatherapy. Combined with the cleaning properties of the beeswax they de-toxify and bring calmness to the home. The Scents are themed with a seasonal approach in spired by Nature and they can be just as effective in warmer months for eliminating kitchen odours, or freshening up a room with a floral scent more appropriate for spring or summer.
Natural Wick
The natural oak wick is clean burning and burns with a relaxing audible crackle, reminiscent of an open fire, or rain tapping on the window pane. It comes pre scorched for ease of burning
